Hi all, I am doing some research.
Me and my husband are looking to move from London to Oxfordshire or Newbury. We will be starting a new family there in one of these places, and currently in the process of finding our family home (we are just trying to rule one place out).
We are wondering if mums and dads out there could kindly share their more recent experiences of their pregnancy and post-birth care in Newbury and Oxfordshire?
I'm quite nervous about there being no main hospital from Newbury to give birth (I want to deliver in a hospital). Also, how is access to Midwives, and what about post-birth care and home visits for check-ups and help with newborn baby, breastfeeding and things like that? What about GP access?
In my mind, I feel the access to these services is better in Oxfordshire from the villages and small towns there, but this might just be because I know there is the main University and Hospitals in Oxford itself, whereas West Berkshire feels more spread out and further away from healthcare facilities.
