Help! There's paint everywhere!

Our lovely and very elderly NDN had their fence spray painted yesterday, and the overspray has gone all over our back door, brickwork, paving, conservatory, drainpipes. So we're now covered in little black dots of paint, literally everywhere. Our NDN is dreadfully upset and has offered to pay for it to be all cleaned up, but I know he doesn't have a ha'penny to his name. Not surprisingly the chap who did the fence is ignoring all messages. The paint was Cuprinol and water based so I'm praying that just hot soapy water and elbow grease will work? But any advice would be really appreciated.

I'm sorry to be the voice of doom, but when our neighbour did this it was still there years layer when we sold - just on the paving slabs tho.

Just Google this tho:

Scrub then bicarb if it doesn't shift it.

Not sure about the (plastic? glass??) conservatory and drain pipes tho.
What is the door made of?

Try nail varnish remover, worked a treat when my son dropped a can of purple spray paint on our brand new patio it caught the nozzle and sprayed it all over out upvc patio door and patio

Oh no that doesn't sound very hopeful. The door is wood so dead easy to just repaint. But the conservatory is white uPVC. I was hoping that a pressure washer would fetch it off brick work and paving slabs?

Would nail varnish remover just be acetone? It's such a big overall area to clean, I'm going to need a vat of it.

Once it's dry soap won't shift it. I've scrubbed our Wendy house several times and the Cuprinol is still going strong. You'll need paint stripper, but that could take off the other paint too. Maybe test to see, some strippers only work on water based paint.

I used acetone free as it's all I had! But it worked

I used nail varnish to get most of it off, goes a bit smeary then I wiped it over with baby oil. Rinsed off with soapy water. I looked it up on google

The glass you can use a razor blade scrapper thing to get paint off

Clementineorsatsuma · 28/06/2023 20:14

WD40 may do it?

InTheGardenShed · 28/06/2023 21:10

On some of the surfaces you could try sanding it off

InTheGardenShed · 28/06/2023 21:11

Gently though!

Acetone won't touch water based paint.

Try any or a combination of the following:

Water and detergent, sodium bicarbonate, white vinegar, iso propanol, thin bleach. try not to let it dry fully.
