for various reasons I can't put my place on the market just yet, but a while back, as part of checking out a particular area, I went to see a house which I now realise is just about perfect...thanks to a discussion on here which made me look again at my priorities.

The house sold but has just come back onto the market, and now I'm obsessed with it, even though I definitely can't do anything about it for months...and I can't imagine the vendors would wait for me in this market!

Aaaargh, how do you all cope with Rightmove addiction, and fretting about the perfect house getting away from you?

My husband was obsessed with a houseb on rightmove. We went to see it and it didn't feel right for me. He still liked it so we saw it again- and it killed it for him. He realised it really wouldn't work for us when he saw it in worse weather.

The house we have bought wasn't anything special on Rightmove- we just saw it as it ticked our boxes and there isn't much on the market. It blew us away (and coincidentally we saw it with the same agent 15 mins after the house he had been obsessed by). Just goes to show how important that gut feeling is, and how viewing can really differ vs rightmove.

I have friends in a similar position to you- but with a happy ending. They offered on a place before they sold, but lost out. Kept looking and eventually accepted an offer on their place. By a weird stroke of luck, the agents for the place they loved called them two hours after they accepted an offer and told them that the sale had fallen through and they could have the house at what they had bid previously. They are now happily in their new home.

It's absolute hell, finding somewhere perfect, getting your house ready for market etc!
I'm going after a house but I'm scared if I don't get it all the time, energy and money I've spent sorting mine will be a waste, but to be fair, it needed sorting anyway!
