As the title says really. Viewing a property and would like to knock down the wall between the kitching and dining room. It looks to be a load bearing wall so curious as to the price of doing that work. Any experience welcome as we haven’t even considered a doer upper before 😀

Ours was about £7k but that was in 2011?. Most of the cost was the steel joist. The labour was only a few days but then it needs plastering and skirting etc

I wanted the same work done in my house. I had a quote about four years ago and it was £2,500, but I live in a less expensive part of the UK, and the wall is not very wide. I have no idea what the builder would quote me now, but I would expect nearer £4000.
