How tf do I put up this light shade?

It’s hole is too small 🤔

There might be a bit of plastic around the hole that pops out to leave a bigger hole-like a collar?

Sounds like it's for a pendant (hanging from ceiling) lamp.

1. Get an electrician to change the lamp holder to the right type, looks like E15 or B14. Might fit both. Cost maybe £60 plus the new bulb(s) you may need

1. Take the shade back and get the right size. If the lamp takes 'normal' size bulbs the shade would be for BC lamp holders. Cost: maybe nothing.

No plastic. It’s just a metal circle.

I can change the lamp holder but would one feed the flex through this hole in the lampshade then rewire the lampholder to hang below? That doesn’t feel right. The weight of it might pull down too much. Though the shade isn’t all that heavy

ive never seen such a thing. It wasn’t visible on the website and no mention is made of this strange set up

The lamp holder pokes through the hole on the top of the shade just like the bigger ones you are used to. You get a little ring or skirt with the holder and you screw it on tight and that holds the shade in place. Finally you put the bulb in.

5 minutes with a step/ cone bit will enlarge the hole so it fits a standard lamp holder, which I assume you have ? Do you know anybody with one you could borrow or take it round to them ?
