Has anyone painted their ikea PAX wardrobes?

How much effort is it? I've had them "built in" to my alcoves and wondering whether to paint them the same colour as the walls (f&b mizzle).
Will I need to faff around taking the doors off? Wondering how easy it is to get a good finish- don't want to make a complete pigs ear of it! Maybe leaving them white is the safer option!?

Yes - can't say I did a brilliant job but it was fine. Took the doors off to do it. It made a huge difference to how they looked in the room. (mine weren't built in but looked much more part of the room and much less IKEA when painted.)

Not pax but dd (aged 13) painted her bright pink ikea kid's wardrobe doors white the other day.

She used the bin zissier primer and the just a normal Matt white with a small paint brush. Kept the doors on. Took about 3 coats and looks good.

Sorry to resurrect this thread. We've just had 'built in' pax wardrobes fitted, and want to paint the surrounding woodwork the same colour. Does anyone know which colour white is the best match for this as I want it as near as possible to the pax matt white?
