Keeping conservatory cool

So I'm just seeing if the world of Mumsnet has any hints or tips for keeping a south facing conservatory cooler when the weather is as glorious as this.

The obvious solution is blinds but I don't think I'll be able to get them fitted this year (thanks crappy bank balance), so I was curious is there were any other hints/tips/advice anyone had to perhaps try and make it a use able room again on hotter days?

Thanks

You could try putting up big white bed sheets across the ceiling a bit like a sail - someone told me the other day that they’d found this quite effective in reflecting some of the sun. I think I’m going to try as mine is about a million degrees at the moment!

I insulated with rigid sheet insulation and plasterboard over that for the ceiling .
made the room usable all year round
