We started the process of extending and reconfiguring the house at the end of last year.
Employed an architect. Took a while to get a design we were happy with.
Submitted planning application in March. Decision in May. All systems go we thought
Now waiting again while Building regs plans are drawn. Structural engineers quote is for £3500 and contract states up to 8 weeks to complete.
All this money and waiting before you get to the point of getting quotes and find the architect has gone way over your budget and you have to start again😣

It took us three years from first meeting with the architect to completed extension. Admittedly we needed to go back to planning twice but these delays are just part of the process. The building regs drawings are really important and referred to a lot.

you will get there!
