Waiting for completion

Today's the day!

I'm sitting on a patio chair in my empty little living room, drinking a coffee, and hoping the cats come back for breakfast so I can crate them!!

The movers came yesterday and packed the majority of the house they're back this morning for a few last bits, and then we are good to go.

When I bought this house, there was only me in the chain and I don't remember any delays on completion. I'm hoping there isn't any today! Never entirely sure what takes so long - send money, release keys?!

What time did you guys have to wait until for collecting your keys upon completion?

Happy moving day. 🙌🏼 it’s usually around 2pm you’ll have your keys. If the seller is a little more organised then it may be a little earlier. I have everything crossed for a smooth transition for you. Good luck.

Where are you in the chain?
Hope it goes quickly.

  2. My buyers
  3. Me
  4. My vendor
  5. Their vendors (empty property).

I completed last week, second in the chain (and end of chain as I don’t have an onward purchase). I think it all went through around 1pm - good luck!

Still waiting!

🙄🙄

What exactly is it that takes so long? 🤔

We completed at 4:50 pm. We did exchange as well on that day. We were only us and our buyers in chain. Vendor had bought theirs already.

House 1: completed 11am
House 2: completed 1pm
House 3: completed 10am
House 4: completed 5pm

Waiting is horrendous! Any news yet?

That was late OP, I hope you are now in your new home without complication! It all depends on the solicitors sending the money down the wires and communicating.

Thanks all - we got the keys at 4.30, the removals guys didn't leave till gone 7. Poor blokes.

I was starting to get a bit twitchy, the closer to 5pm it got, I have to admit!
