New build mortgage no kitchen/bathroom

Hoping someone can help!!

Buying a new build through part ex, want to port my existing mortgage (Natwest if that helps) as on fixed rate until 2025. The person I spoke to on the phone today at the mortgage place said they wouldn't give us a mortgage offer unless the house had a kitchen/bathroom. Guessing this was just a call handler and not a mortgage advisor. Need to call back tomorrow to make an appointment with an advisor. The new build rep says she's never heard that before and most of the time the surveyors/valuers never even go in the house just go off plan or come to the site and view from outside. It's up and built but a couple of weeks off kitchen being installed. For reference it's also a fully established site with many of this house type and others.

Is this standard practice with new builds?

Many thanks for any advice!

So if doesn’t have a kitchen but it will before you move in?

She’s being exceptionally dense. Of course they will lend you the money because it WILL have them both.

Yeah you're not buying a half finished house, you're buying it once it's finished so surely when you go in to the appointment, that'll all be sorted.
