Any plumbers around?

We viewed a house yesterday that appeared to have the soil pipe going immediately to the left before (presumably) going downwards on the other side of the wall. The plunger next to it had me worried - does this look a setup that would block easily? How easy would it be to move to toilet directly above the down pipe (assuming enough space to do so)?

Any plumbers around?

Similar set up to our last house. It had a flexi toilet waste pipe, because of the distance, which was a PItA because it couldn’t handle a big wedge of paper (kids!), or a rather large motion, and took some jiggling to go down (&a poo knife 🤮) but it never actually blocked.

Thanks @RollinRollinRollinRawhide I don’t like the sound of a poo knife 😬

It looks like a bodge and it doesn’t have enough drop on it for the poo to flow…. So it probably isn’t flowing properly.

you can’t tell if it can be improved without looking at the services in a lot more detail.

the plunger is there for a reason!

Are there any old pictures of nearby sold properties online?

If they are all like that they surely it cannot be that bad.
