Curtain tracks

Yet another day of waking at 0500 even with thick expensive velvet curtains and blackout blinds. We have very wide 240cm windows

I am wondering if it’s worth the hassle to switch my pole for a track?

and so I need to faff about with battens or can I put it straight into the wall? My curtains are extremely heavy.

Track will attach to the wall, no need for battens but you will need to look for a heavy duty one which can manage the weight of your curtains.

I think it might be worth trying to train yourself to sleep through it, or wear an eye mask? How much light can be coming in?

I would use a batten though to make it stronger if the curtains are heavy.

Can you get a blackout blind in the window recess. We got some nice Roman blinds online years ago (blinds 2U I think). They’d reduce the light.

We’ve got very thick blackout blinds already

I am very much a morning person so it doesn’t bother me that much in some ways but it’s tiring not being able to wake up when I choose. I just want a lie in!

do I have to get somebody to make me the battens? Is it something I can buy?
