This is in our hall and kitchen-diner.
Previous owners put it in.
I hate cleaning spills and flour out of the joints, bit otherwise think it's fab but in need of a clean right now

We had herringbone engineered wood put down last autumn. Runs seamlessly throughout downstairs (minus the kitchen). It’s beautiful. Just need to sort the rest of the house now 😆 Excuse the pug fluff!

I have limestone in the hall, my kitchen has limestone in the work area with oak in the dining part. It all gets a wipe over most days and I steam clean the limestone every week. No stains after 6 years.

@CatsOnTheChair is it engineered wood? Love the cottage vibe. It looks really lovely and cosy.

@SquashPenguin I love the herringbone pattern for flooring! This colour is beautiful with white walls.

@Fifi80 our dining room is actually black but it goes equally well! Our plan is to eventually have the same flooring in all the bedrooms as well. I think oak flooring is a timeless look, you could put almost anything with it and it’ll work. Herringbone installation is on the pricier side as it takes longer, but the result is wonderful.

No idea if it's engineered or solid wood, sorry.

Pillowed portland stone tiles in the kitchen, wooden floor the rest of the ground floor.

We just had our hall done, it was carpeted before. I wanted a pattern so went for this vinyl. Very easy to keep clean and the pattern makes me happy 😊

Here is our hall in Amtico LVT laid 2 years ago. So easy to clean. Quick weekly vacuum & mop once a fortnight.

our new room is done in Ambience deep emboss in chateau oak, we love it. It’s a big bright room that can take a dark colour

our dining room and hall are original parquet which we’ve sanded and restored but they require a bit of work to be honest. Beautiful though .
