money and job relocation is not a issue at all. I would love to live in a rural cottage.Like this

In my mind I think of somewhere quiet & remote. Something like a lovely big house with large windows & stunning sea views in Devon or Cornwall.

However, I also hate driving on single track roads & everywhere being at least a 1 hour drive away 😁. So my budget would need to include a chauffeur as a minimum.

Possibly the Algarve. I've never been to Portugal but from what I've heard it's lovely.

Infusionist · 02/06/2023 12:20

Bloomsbury. If given the choice I would never leave some 1!

LadyEloise1 · 02/06/2023 12:24

By the sea in Ireland.
Being greedy now Smile but also a place with sunny weather abroad. Possibly Florida.
Or the Canaries.

A modern villa with swimming pool in grounds overlooking countryside and an expensive village/town with a train station that is walkable and near the sea...think that covers all bases 😃

Daffodillyb · 02/06/2023 12:35

I always think I’d like a remote place but the thought scares me a bit due to a few health issues.

it’s a dreamy cottage though op!!

I think my dream place backs onto somewhere woody so that I get plenty of bird sounds but then I also love a sea view!

MadEyeMoodysEye · 02/06/2023 12:36

A lovely, leafy part of London, like Hampstead.

Howtohideasausage · 02/06/2023 12:37

I’m torn between zone 1 London, a massive house in Hampstead or by the sea somewhere.

Matildatoldsuchdreadfullies · 02/06/2023 12:39

North Devon. There’s a house overlooking Staunton Sands that I have long had my eye on*.

When I was a teenager, I used to look at a house in Chipping Campden on my way to school every day, and knew that it was destined for me. Sadly, I doubt if I could even afford the garden wall.

*Not that Grand Designs one.

Matildatoldsuchdreadfullies · 02/06/2023 12:40

Saunton, not Staunton.

😂😂I think we are the same person 😂

Somewhere like this! Of course I live in a sun-tropical part of Australia with weather similar to bloody Florida…

Middle Earth

redrobininmygarden · 02/06/2023 12:54

@HollyFern1110 I can totally relate to narrow roads, sea view would be lovely.

Yours op but by the sea in Dorset. And a small flat in Islington.

dempseyb · 02/06/2023 13:14

A chateau in France or a modern pad in Miami

ComtesseDeSpair · 02/06/2023 13:42

I’d have an apartment in the Barbican, one of the P2B Types overlooking the lake and inner gardens.

beguilingeyes · 02/06/2023 13:47

There's a house on the river by The Globe that used to belong to Southwark Cathedral. Five bedrooms, big walled garden and parking. It sold a few years ago for 5 million. That.

wowie69 · 02/06/2023 13:54

In a spacious house with open views over a beach in Devon (or any lovely bit of coast really). But I'd want it to be a beach that doesn't get overrun with holidaymakers, not at the end of a single track road, and walking distance to a great pub that does a fabulous Sunday roast.

I think some friends of mine have the perfect mix. They have a big country farmhouse (6 bedroom) with pool and outhouses in a beautiful area about 1h 30 from London. They have a flat in Belgravia. And they have a huge villa in the Caribbean, overlooking the sea.

They made more money during the property boom in London than they ever did in their day jobs…

That’d suit me down to the ground. Lovely house in a lovely location. 😛

outdooryone · 02/06/2023 16:17

I already live here. Mountains visible from garden, beaches up the road, lovely community, amazing nature and recreation, good job, reasonable house prices, train nearby. It is just north of Stirling.
