Are Ireland and UK 1960-1980 properties full of asbestos?

Probably.

Is it an issue - not really.

Get a survey done,

Not full exactly but many of them have, or had, asbestos somewhere.

Personally my 1959 house, asbestos soffits. These had been overlayed with UPVC. My 1964 house, asbestos soffits. Council inspected and said it was fine to remove these ourselves (well, our renovator rather than specialist asbestos removal company) but to double bag them and drop them off at the local skip place where there is a special collection.

There we’re lots of houses near us when I was a child with corrugated asbestos roofing on their sheds & garages.

There are even asbestos Lino tiles. My DF was a plumber and he came across as asbestos a lot on jobs when I was growing up.
