Relocation Risk

We are trying to buy a property at the moment but with increasing prices and another baby on the way we are considering moving further out to be beside family and where prices are much more reasonable, eg. 5 bed for less than price of 3 bed, larger gardens etc. The only issue is my husband (the sole earner) works from home (since COVID) but nobody can say that this will be permanent. It would mean a long commute daily driving as no public transport or relocating again and changing kids schools. Any advice? What would you do? Being near family would definitely change our quality of life so that's a big drive as well as the cost. There are no rental properties in this area unfortunately and we really want to own our own home.

If they aren’t guaranteeing permanent wfh then I wouldn’t, unless he was going to look for a different job.
There have been numerous threads on here about people being called back to the office but it now causing difficulties because they have moved.
