new window installation certificates

i am getting windows installed, one provider said they would provide a FENSA certificate and the other said they would provide a CORGI certificate .

Does anyone know if there is a significant difference between the two ?

Are you sure? Corgi is for gas.

Fensa is the gold standard for windows.

Not sure what the CORGI one is.

FENSA aside as it's basically a pointless piece of paper, make sure to double check everything once they're done and immediately report/don't settle final payment until fixed.
Check everything opens smoothly, nothing stiff & no catching, no gaps in the mastic seals etc (give them a poke to check for voids beneath), no damaged brickwork.

yep FENSA windows, Corgi gas - but I thought Corgi was defunct had been superceeded. Sure you weren't offered a worming certificate by this doggie bod?

Whilst CORGI is generally associated with gas boiler installations, as the above replies demonstrate, it was replaced by GaseSafe 15 years ago.

Anyway, a quick Google seems to suggest they do seem to offer an intaller guarantee for replacement windows/doors:

I agree. It's just like the insurance backed guarantees that were offered in the 80's and 90's. Not worth the paper they were printed on

Fensa is an insurance backed guarantee...certass is an equivalent

Corgi is gas and if they said that they are lying about an insurance backed guarantee.

i should also add that the window is going on a wall which doesnt have a window . They definitely said its a CORGI certificate for windows but as i say im not exactly sure what this guarantees over a FENSA one

I often wonder if anyone reads the previous replies on some threads.
