So estate agents tell you…

As soon as someone asks to view the property?

Our house went on Rightmove on Monday. We’ve agreed viewings will be one day over weekends, and two set half days in the week.

I haven’t heard anything from them. So wondering if you think no one has asked to view it, or if they just let you know closer to the viewing day? I’ll call them tomorrow, I’m just overthinking and wondering / worrying?

That should have said ‘Do estate agents tell you’

We had also preagreed a viewing date. Ours had a possibly automated system where I got an email saying viewing booked for x o’clock for Mr & Mrs Armitage. If you’ve agreed the dates though they may just be waiting to catch up with you periodically. I wouldn’t panic yet. But you can of course give them a call.

Thank you. That’s useful. And that’s what I’m hoping, that they’ll call on a certain day to update each week. A tad panicked though, not going to lie!

Depends on the estate agent - some have an automatic viewing booker which would send an email to you and the parties interested in your property, other estate agents will have the administrator in the office email you - and it all depends in their workload as they’ll have other properties to sell. You should hear same working day though, if on a weekend then first thing Monday morning when the office opens.

I think they phone pretty quickly in most cases (same day) to check the proposed time of the viewing is convenient for you.

If you are limiting your viewing windows, I would only expect to hear anything just prior to those windows.

Probably no interest as yet. It depends where you live, but in over seven months I've had five people view my house. Three had second viewings, but the only person who wants to buy can't complete the chain. A year ago, neighbouring houses were snapped up in a day. I get an automated email from the ea if anyone requests a viewing and had none in February through to last week when I had two. One a no show.
