Crime in Leigh on Sea/Southend

My partner and I are hoping to move to Leigh on Sea. We’ve heard that Southend has a high crime rate and we were wondering what this is like in Leigh on Sea. We’d really appreciate hearing people’s perspectives/experiences on this. Thank you!

The ADT crime finder online site is your friend. It has saved me from viewing dozens of houses in slightly rough areas.

Leigh on sea covers a big area. I'm localish but about 15 minutes away. Leigh is one of the nicer areas if you're in the right bit (south of the A13/London road) but the crime rate is similar to most areas.

All those East End criminals move to Essex when they retire.
