We had a one story extension built five years ago with one Velux. 30s semi.
The roof had leaked ever since in two distinct lines across the roof. Builder has not been able to diagnose the issue despite three roofers coming to assess.
We employed a builder to fix other guttering and soffits etc who carried out an analysis and concluded a catalogue of errors. Including velux at too low for rain to drain, roof battens spaced incorrectly and felt and guttering not correct.
He recommended we get a full roof survey.
I am now waiting for a response from the original builder (Which recommended, FMB registered etc etc). Obviously we want this fixed and we want the builder to pay for a roof survey.
What should my next step be if the builder is reluctant or refuses to action the survey (at his expense). I have been very nice til now, but I am losing patience.
Also why did building control sign off the roof if there were so many flaws?
