Sofa beds

Any recommendations for a really comfy sofa bed?!

My parents come to stay once a fortnight and we are turning current master bedroom into a playroom once our loft conversion is done, but need a sofa bed for them to stay over. I feel guilty about not having a proper spare room for them, so hoping to soften the blow by having a very comfy sofa bed.

My DS has sofa bed in his guest room. I'm afraid we dread staying more than 1 night as so uncomfortable. What about a day bed which at least have proper mattresses ?

My friend has a sofa bed from Sofa Fox. It’s really comfy.

We have one from DFS that my mum sleeps well on, although she brings her own mattress topper!

I slept on it both times DH had covid and slept really well.

I read a tip on here from someone who got the IKEA Hemnes day bed, but rather than getting the IKEA foam mattresses with it, instead got 2 single zip-link mattresses, so it makes a proper king sized bed.

I haven’t done it yet, but that’s what I’m planning to do for our office/guest room.

Thanks everyone! That’s what I fear @Teebles007. DM already brings her own pillow because ours aren’t up to scratch!

Day bed is a good idea and love the ikea hack. Will have a look at sofa fox too

We stayed at a friends on a decent quality Murphy bed, very comfortable as it had a real mattress and locked against the wall it's out of the way and safe for kids!

I highly recommend this one. My parents have it and we slept on it for 6 weeks while have reno works at our house. Its really easy to change into a bed, firm, almost king size, and the doesn't have folds in the mattress or complex mechanisms that can go wrong. If they don't like a firm bed then you can add a topper to make it softer, you can't make a soft bed firmer. Its also a really comfortable sofa to sit on, my parents have it in their play room, its robust enough to withstand children.
