Has anyone used privacy film on their windows? Would you recommend it?

We're thinking of using the mirrored stuff but don't know if it's worth it.

We’ve used this to cover half of each window at the front (to stop dog barking at everything that goes past). Attaches with just water and is still in place 2 years on.
