Colour inspiration needed

I'm looking for inspiration from more stylish decor minds than mine!

I've got a notion to paint our lounge, quite a small room as it's a flat but 3rd and faces south west so very light in the afternoon and evening, (too light if anything at times, I'm currently on the couch and roasting in the evening sun).

In a small room my instinct is always one wall of colour and 3 neutral but with this much light I'm thinking maybe we could get away with the whole room in colour if we choose a very light shade?

Problem is I don't know which shade. Carpet and couch are both a very light mushroomy beige, I suppose. Other furniture currently waxed pine but due to be replaced so doesn't need to tie in with that. No decision yet made on new furniture. Other rooms are blues and greens so something different might be nice.

Please share your favourite very light colour shades!

We're pretty new to decorating having always rented before so picturing the finished product in my head is still a challenge.

Thanks Smile

Have a look at Dunelm paints.
We've used warm sand and white sand and they're both beautiful.
The matt emulsion is the nicest I've ever used and mostly I've only needed one coat.( Covering Elephants Breath)
Former Little Greene and Farrow and Ball user so the price is fantastic too!

Oh thank you, Dunelm wouldn't have occurred to me for paint! I'll have a look Smile
