Renting with no income

I'm coming home from being abroad after a year. I can afford my rent from savings comfortably while I look for a job but was wondering if any private agency or landlord will consider me? I won't have DSS income as I've been out of country too long and also just over the savings threshold.
Any advice from anyone? I don't want to have to live in hotels until I have a job which could take 2-3 months

Offer to pay upfront for (say) 6 months.

As PP. I rented for six months after moving out of ex marital home. Didn’t want the hassle providing all the info to agents so paid up front. It made everything easy.

It's a brutal rental environment right now, and as you have no income and have been overseas, you will go to the bottom of the pile that estate agents recommend their clients go with.

If you can offer 6-12 months rent in advance, a UK based guarantor who is a home owner and three months bank statements showing you paid your rent on time overseas, you might be okay.

Otherwise I am afraid I would recommend you suck up not having your own home and get yourself on spare room.co.uk for houseshares. You might be lucky enough to find an annexe off someone's house to rent rather than just a room and shared facilities.

I cannot overemphasise how brutal renting decent homes has become in the last two years, and it's progressively getting worse because landlord tax incentives have been cut whilst their legal safety obligations have increased. That alongside most BTL landlord's mortgage rates going up by shedloads means we currently have a mass exodus of LLs, and people fighting for rental homes.
