Wish us luck - house going on the market next week!

After weeks of decluttering, tidying, and try to get our house to look move in ready, we’re about to put our house on the market.

Every piece of clothes I own is covered in paint, including my glasses. I hope it’s worth it! These are the estate agent photos - minus the one of the bathroom they forgot to include in the brochure 🤣 so that’ll be added. They are screen shots from my phone so not the high res ones.

Any final tips of anything else I can do (in less than a week while at work) before people start coming to view?

Honestly, it looks fab! Perfect move-in condition.i don't think you'll have a problem shifting it :)

What are your onward plans?

Thank you 😊 we are hoping to move into my grandmothers old house. So no chain at our end. Keep fluctuating between excited and scared!

Ps - I’m going through the ‘waking up at 5am and can’t get back to sleep because of thinking about house things’ phase 😞

I love how light your living room is,with the white furniture.
My house is pretty much identical but yours has lovely coloured bricks in the front and I love your navy door( mine is safe but might go navy now!).

Thanks! The doors not that blue really, I think the light’s just caught it.

Good luck!

DrySherry · 20/05/2023 07:07

That's very nicely presented, good effort. Think hard about your asking price before you list. Most of the potential buyers in your area will be very cautious that it's value may fall over the short term. If they think it's overpriced they may not even come to view, if it looks like a bargain you should get plenty of interest. Good luck and keep us informed how it goes.

strawberryFforever · 20/05/2023 08:53

Interesting how you use the dining room for living space and dining at the front

Something to think about there

GoodLies · 20/05/2023 08:56

It looks immaculate to me.

I don’t think I could get my house to that level and it’s the one thing that is preventing me from moving!

Twiglets1 · 20/05/2023 08:57

Very nicely presented and a pretty house. Don't think you will have too much trouble selling that one as long as the price is realistic.

lostat · 20/05/2023 11:34

I love it. Good luck OP. Garden would look bigger if trimmed back a little more and garden furniture looks a bit knackered, could you put a table cloth or something on table? (some people do think along these lines honest!)

YarnySocksKnitter · 20/05/2023 11:41

It looks lovely, really fresh, bright and airy.

Oh for goodness sake, she's moving out, why does she need to think about it. Nice bit of passive aggression though 😂

It looks great OP.

Thanks! I’m going to have another little go at the garden this weekend. The arbour/gazebo is fine, I might try and nail down the couple of slats on the table that are lifting - otherwise it’s ok 😊

Thanks both. We did have it the other way round when we first moved in but prefer it this way as the rooms we spend most time in are the lounge, kitchen and garden so it works for us having them linked 😊

Exciting times op. We sold our place within 2 weeks and have had an offer on our next house accepted

MuddaUdders · 20/05/2023 12:33

Best of luck! Just keep it in showroom condition as best as you can. You've already done all of the hard work. Time to put your feet up!

PurpleBananaSmoothie · 20/05/2023 12:51

Good luck. Near us FTB houses like yours are still selling. Yours is nicely presented, light and decent sized rooms so hopefully it does well. We went on the market at the end of February (our listing didn’t look as good as yours) but ours sold stc within a week and after the first weekend of viewing. Have you been following what’s happening on rightmove? That will give you an idea of your asking price is realistic and what is selling in your area.

maximist · 20/05/2023 13:03

The house is lovely, but the garden shots aren't doing you any favours. I'd ditch the knackered table and not show the shed, which looks like it's falling down (this might be a trick of the camera, but it doesn't look great).

Cmon. Now. No one is going to not buy her house because the garden table is old or the shed a bit knackered. Cmon 😂

op. You’ve done a fantastic job. It looks great. Good luck.

Thanks. I’ve fixed the table. The shed is too bad, the door has just dropped. But I might take a couple of photos this weekend without it in it and send them over to see if they want to include those instead.

Looks very well presented and clean.

I would also get rid of the garden table. That was the only thing that jumped out at me.

fingers crossed you get a quick sale!

strawberryFforever · 21/05/2023 10:27

@passthegingordon

I meant for me to think about. My house is similar

Why are you so angry about something nowt to do with you?
