How long does it take to arrange a home buyers survey?

Just that really.

The buyer of my property told our sales progressor at the estate agency that he had paid for the survey on Monday. However, the surveyor hasn't been in touch with me yet to arrange a date.

When I paid for the survey for the property I want to purchase, I think the surveyor got in touch with the vendor the next day.

I haven't got really much experience with this - is it normal that it can take a few days until they are in touch?

I don't think our buyer would lie about paying for a survey, but I am worried about being messed around.

It’ll vary from firm to firm. We enquired about a survey on Monday late afternoon, got a response on the Tuesday and instructed them straight away. They arranged the date and time directly with the EA same day (arranged for next week) and told us not to pay them until the day before in case the sale falls through between now and then.

We have been told we will receive the report within 5 working days of the visit.

Um it's only 48 hours since he paid, I wouldn't be worried yet!

More likely to be arranged with estate agent than you. Ask them (and they can chase the buyer).

Yes, I had this experience as well, that's why I find it weird

Didn’t get a date until a week after first contact/ paying !

Thank you - hopefully there's just a delay in our case as well. Will call the estate agent today though to chase it up
