Hello! We are house hunting from abroad and finding it all a bit tricky. We had been targeting areas near Fulford/Archbishop Holgate schools but struggling to find what we want so expanding the search.

Wondered if people have any experience of these schools in terms of feel and whether children are happy there, and attainment.

We are not RC so also interested to know how mixed the intake is of All Saints in terms of religion. Thanks!

My eldest went to All Saints 6th form - we both found it an excellent and supportive environment, very strong academically. That's over a decade ago, but I believe it is still one of the best schools in York. Fulford has also always been considered a very good school. When my DC were at school they went to Manor (a CoE school that had fairly strict entry criteria at the time if you were out of area as we were) and I cannot praise it highly enough in terms of student support and extra curricular activities not to mention academic attainment. Again - several years ago now and obviously staff change, head teachers change, the culture might change a little. The other secondary that always scores well is Huntington but I have no experience of it personally.
