I'm moving to another rental in 6 weeks and haven't even stayed preparing! I haven't moved for ten years so have forgotten how stressful it can be. Any hints/tips things I need to remember. ?!

Hire professionals. Paying a removal company is money VERY well spent.

Also good luck with the move. Smile

Don't put heavy things like books in large boxes, a smaller number of smaller boxes is kinder to your back.

Go over things in storage spaces and closets. Dilute your belonging into your essentials. Give away to friends and charity if there are good things you haven’t used in 2-3 years. Throw away the rest. It‘s amazing the amount of thing I discovered I actually had but forgot I had and never used.
6 weeks is a good amount of time. Make a work schedule. Leave 3-4 to packing.
Good luck with your move!

*3-4 weeks :)

6 weeks is plenty.
Next weekend, go through every cupboard downstairs, and bin or charity shop (or sell, but you might be running out of time for this) stuff you don't want to take with you.
Following weekend repeat upstairs.
Weekend 3 have a break or do garage/shed/loft if these exist.
Weekend 4 pack stuff you won't use for the next month.
Weekend 5 pack everything but the essentials.
Day you move pack the rest.
