I had an anthracite grey front door and I felt like I was coming home to a prison every night. Especially in winter. I painted it eventually.

Black! Grey is rapidly going out of fashion, and it looks so drab.

Black! I have a black front door and it looks smart and classic. I think anthracite grey doors will be dated like golden oak or that horrible brown that were trendy last decade/the 90s.

100% black

Recently had same dilemma and gone with black. The grey is nice but as pp said, the black is less prison like/become dated

If it's composite I've read that dark coloured doors can expand in strong sunlight so if your front door gets exposure to full sun for large parts of the day that could be a problem.

Black is nicer than grey imo, is it composite? I'd definitely go for black if you aren't going to be painting it.

Navy instead of black? Can look very smart, depending on the design and colour of the house. Agree on the grey looking dated or like a prison door.

Black!

I was going to say the same. Used to live in a rented house where the front door was unusable for large parts of the day for weeks on end - if you were daft enough to shove it open, you'd have to keep it open for ages until the door cooled down enough to close. That one was navy blue. It looked good, though!

Black, grey is on its way out

RedRobin100 · 12/05/2023 06:37

We have anthracite - but our windows are all anthracite aluminium so they match

I don’t love our front door but the builder put it in
