My MIL died a year ago and my husband and 1 of his brothers were named as executors another brother is a beneficary but not executor , he does however stay at the house although this is not stipulated in the will he is just a beneficary that's all.
My hubbie has signed everything and it should have gone to probate but the executor brother is dragging his heels. We want this allover and done with and its causing stress. The solicitor is saying we have to wait but its now getting us down. Meanwhile the brother staying at the house is running up.bills living rent free.
Any advice ? Can we charge rent? Make him leave get the executor brother to move himself.

Why is the other executor dragging his heels? Where does the solicitor come in? Who inherited the house beneficiary brother is living in? Beneficiary brother should be paying the bills there at least.

Just take all the relevent bills off the beneficiaries share of the estate at the end .

Does the brother still living in the property have any history of mental illness, or has he been treated for depression or anxiety?
Might sound like an odd question but it's very relevant if he decides he just wants to stay put ?
