How long until survey after agreeing sale?

I accepted offer on my house over 2 weeks ago. Had confirmation from agent and solicitors have been instructed and forms filled.

I wondered how long it usually takes until seller gets a survey done.
I feel that's the next hurdle and not sure when to expect it.

Do you mean how long until the buyer gets a survey done?

We had our offer accepted 18 February and had the survey done 3rd March.

It also depend on the availability of the surveyors as well.

I booked my survey straight after my mortgage was accepted (the bank only did a desktop survey/valuation and I wanted to arrange a full structural survey) but the surveyor's next available slot was two weeks away.

We had our survey done today, offer was accepted 17 days ago. I instructed the surveyor within a couple of days of getting the offer accepted but there was a 2 week wait to get the survey done. We are cash buyers so didn’t need to wait for mortgage approval.

We had our offer accepted on 12/04 and survey was done 2/05, delayed due to availability of the surveyor.

Once the buyer has a mortgage application in, the mortgage company will do a short valuation for mortgage purposes and the buyer might appoint the surveyor to do a full survey at about the same time. If the survey is satisfactory then the mortgage offer is usually sent out about 4 days later.

We didn't have one done on ours and we didn't book one on our onward purchase until the chain was complete. Which took several months in the end, so was quite late on in the process.

3 weeks from offer acceptance to survey being carried out.

2 weeks from offer acceptance to mortgage valuation.

However when I purchased the one I'm in now, I didn't book the survey for ages as there were other enquiries to sort first. I think it was 3 months from our offer to thr date of the survey. But we completed a month later.

know when the surveyor will visit? Yes, usually the surveyor will contact your estate agent to arrange a suitable date and time with you. That’s what happened when we instructed the surveyor for the property we’re buying. When our buyer just had his mortage valuation done on our place (he didn’t instruct a survey), the mortgage valuer called us direct to arrange a suitable date/time.
