We stupidily pulled out 4 weeks before their useless 10 months service ended as they werent doing their job properly. The complaint dept offered a discount and apologised. It is under £1k.

Me and husband were going through a rough patch (weve now split up), im closing my self employed business on 22nd because it not worked out and i was barely making a wage for the past 6 months, my husband is on very low wage as his self employed fluctuated.

Im seeking a full time employment.

We are both skint. Gotta sort out the divorce aswell

Or we.made a mistake pulling out and gotta pay?

I'd get legal advice. Ten months is a long time for them to say they need to sell the house - it doesn't sound reasonable. However, you have had nine months of service so...

For the record, purplebricks are fucking awful. Anyone thinking of using them - god, don't. They are dreadful property managers when you rent a house through them.

We sold with PB last year, horrific experience. Took nearly 9 months with two buyers pulling out mid way with no reason, and our sales manager was so rude and unhelpful. From memory, I think the 10 months applies even if you chose to not go ahead with the sale - it's only if you went 10 months without an offer with 10% of your asking price. I'd check the terms of service from when you signed up to sell, but pretty sure you'll have to pay

@Lcb123 yes youre correct. I wasnt thinking straight and now realised ive fecked it up.

Will have to pay up

Sorry to hear you’ve had such a rough time @Screwedup1 we sold through PB last year. First buyer pulled out but fortunately found another one quickly so all went through ok but yes they made it very clear on the contract that if we withdrew from the market or there was no sale after 10 months then we would be liable for the fee.
I hope things start to improve for you soon

This happened to us with a useless estate agent a few years ago. We pulled out after months of them doing nothing.

They threatened us but I just told them to take me to court for it….they didn’t bother!

EggInANest · 09/05/2023 09:34

I hope you get things sorted soon OP, all sounds very difficult.

As a buyer (now in my 5th bought home) I avoid looking at anything for sale via PB, and wouldn’t contemplate it if they used their conveyancing ‘service’.

Screwedup1 · 09/05/2023 15:46

@Retrain12345 i wish i had to gut to tell them to take me to court but ive got to make a start on the divorce proceeding. Not got much money to have.
