Anyone selling and purchasing in London?

We were planning on waiting until next year to move but we've found a property we love and have put an offer in. As such, we're listing our property in East London. Anyone else doing the same? What's your experience so far? Have you managed to secure offers relatively quickly and easily? We're fairly confident our property will sell at or near asking in good time, but apparently everyone thinks that!

As an aside, we'd like to ask that the house we've offered on is taken off the market in the event our offer is accepted. Does this include removing all listings from sites like Rightmove or just marking the advert as SSTC?

I think until your own property is under offer (and ideally by proceedable buyers), you're not in a position to request that the one you want to buy is taken off the market. You're not in a very strong negotiating position at the moment.

We’re selling and buying in east London. It went quickly but is a period property in an area that doesn’t have loads of them and was priced decently I think. We paid 5% off our purchase.

The lack of decent stuff on the market means that you may be snapped up - but it also means that if your “dream home” is on the market, that there will be other offers. We wouldn’t have accepted one from someone who wasn’t proceedable, and while we were accepted before we sold, we were given 2 weeks to get sold before they started doing viewings again (which we thought was fair).

Selling in SE London to move closer to family. Took us 2.5 weeks to get an agreeable offer, which luckily coincided with dream property coming onto the market where we are looking. Fingers crossed!

Most sellers where we were looking refused to even entertain an offer from a non proceedable buyer; some wouldn't even let you in to look at the place.
