We have only had pretty poor experiences of conveyancing solicitors so this is a plea for a good one!! We have just found a buyer but not somewhere to buy yet

Personally I like to use solicitors in my area, so I would use a local one. I just looked for good Google reviews and went for one with a no completion no fee set up. Our conveyancer has been good so far, easy to get hold of by phone.

I just conveyanced with O’Neill Patient LLP and was impressed. It was a bit disconcerting at first: they have an app and an online portal for requesting and submitting all documents and so I think I only actually spoke to my case manager about twice in the entire process. But it was very efficient and being able to keep track of all the stages as opposed to having to backtrack through emails and noted of phone conversations was pretty useful.

(I don’t work for them, hadn’t even heard of them until I went through Money Supermarket or one of its ilk for quotations and they popped up with decent reviews.)

We used Bishopsgate Law in Herts. All done by email and an app for uploading documents. Really professional, proactive and efficient. Happy to share name of specific solicitor if you want to PM.

I remortgaged with them in January I hated the portal struggled to upload stuff and found it slowed things down compared to getting an email and sending the documents. Plus they decided to change my name with land registry without asking me as I had got married - I still use both names for a variety of reasons. Never discussed changing it with the land registry first I new was a letter to say it had been changed!

Thanks loads.

I used and online one for a remortgage and it was good. Do you get a specific case worker or can anyone work on it? We paid through the nose for our last purchase but found we were given no better service than a rubbish local firm so really struggling to know what's best
