Dark walnut furniture and light green (sage-ish) sofa? It's a snug, 4x3m, dual aspect so gets quite a bit of light. Carpet is light grey (but a kind of beige/oatmealy grey, it's a very subtle grey).

Don't want to change the furniture but really struggling with paint colour ideas. First instinct was navy but we have that in the living room.

F&B Joa's white works with lots of colour schemes.

Pink? The right shade would look nice against the sofa imo.

@skyglass
Bear with me: a pink shade! F&B do several that look wonderful with dark furniture and definitely work with sage. I have Peignoir which is a bluer “pink” but it definitely works with your scheme. Or Setting plaster. It’s a fab neutral “pink” and goes with everything. Borrowed light is a wonderful pale blue. This also works with your scheme but n a more subtle way. I think these look better than a dark colour with darker furniture. Greens? Whirlybird or Calke Green might suit too. Depends if you want calm or a slightly more contrasting pink!

Pink. I like the F and B suggestions above, but I’d not use actual F and B paint as it leaves a mark if you touch it. (I have a their pink paint in a room, so I know from experience).
Little Green do some nice pinks.

We have Valspar earthy beige with a walnut tv unit and a sage green sofa.

Thanks all, quite tempted by the Peignoir! It's my sons' snug but youngest seems quite enamoured with the pink, think DH will take some convincing mind!

The key is not to say the word 'pink'. The minute you say it you've lost 😂 Show him pics of a room which has a shade you like.

TizerorFizz · 16/04/2023 19:36

Peignoir is a soft grey pink. It’s lovely.

If pink works, do you think a sort of terracotta would work? Or is that awfully 90s? (I vaguely remember my parents wanting everyone room terracotta!)
