**HELP PLEASE ** In search for affordable area to buy property (to live in) with good transport links to Maidenhead and Canary Wharf

My partner and I are looking for an area to buy a house/flat to live in somewhere with good transport links to both Maidenhead and Canary Wharf. Partner works in Maidenhead and I work in Canary Wharf so ideally would be great to find a location that could allow up to 1 hour travel time.

Our budget is £350k - £375k for a two bed. I was looking in Hanwell which is on the Elizabeth line but budget is tight and very limited supply of properties in Hanwell currently.

Any suggestions for a suitable location - anywhere in/around London with good links to Maidenhead & Canary Wharf - would be greatly appreciated.

It is key for the area to be safe and family friendly.

Maidenhead itself? You’d get a lot more for your money than somewhere in London between the two, and that way you save one lot of commuting costs. Journey would take just over an hour on the Elizabeth Line. West Drayton would give you a slightly shorter commute; I have a friend who lives there and it seems quiet and pleasant enough, if a little bit of a nowhere area (which tbh I think is often the case with places which aren’t quite London and aren’t quite Home Counties but are well connected enough to appeal to commuters.)

@ComtesseDeSpair It’s an interesting suggestion, thank you! Although Maidenhead to Canary Wharf would be quite a journey on a daily basis, compared to my current 15min journey Stratford to Canary Wharf. West Drayton I’ve driven around and I’m not sure how I feel about the area.

Transport links to Maidenhead are not great unless you drive it, maybe look at the train line and work from there. Reading?

The Elizabeth line stops at both Maidenhead and Canary Wharf!
But.... I have found that it can be v v unreliable -DD uses it and there isn't a week that goes by that there is a problem !

Slough is quite affordable - Langley perhaps?
