Safety - Welwyn Garden City

Hi All,
I am considering buying a house in Welwyn Garden City which seems a lovely area but I have seen crime stats being particularly high in violence crimes and I wondered if anyone had some first-hand account of life there that could help me make a more informed decision?

DC has lived there alone for several years in a very ordinary road. Regularly walks home late at night etc, never had any bother. Doesn't seem any different to other small towns/cities.

Hey, we used to live there a couple of years ago, we had no problem whatsoever. We lived right near town too, about a 5 minute walk from the station.

I have family there and it's a lovely place. No issues.
