Black mould spots

I tried using undiluted white vinegar on some black mould spots on my bathroom sealant. Have left it on there for about 4 hours and it has made no difference. I want to try something else now but am worried about mixing different cleaning products. I don't want to end up overcome with the fumes. How long should I leave it before I try another product?

i would leave it overnight it will be dry by then and go to b&q and get HG mould remover its not cheap at about a fiver but its brilliant you spray it on leave it for an hour and then rinse it off it smells like a swimming pool but with the windows open it soon goes we had mould on our bathroom ceiling and nothing would shft it for long using the HG it has gone and not come back

I find that Cillit Bang black mould cleaner works in minutes. Brilliant stuff.

You need dilute benzalkonium chloride. Essentially a diluted version of what's in patio magic.

I have had a lot of trouble getting the black staining out of silicone sealant though. In the end I killed the mould with the above, then painted neat bleach on with a tooth brush, left it for 1hr and then wiped off.

Cillit bang black mould remover. Bloody brilliant.

Cillit bang mould remover or dettol mould remover, both are good. Make sure you have good ventilation and try not to breathe it in. I remember reading that cleaning fluids affect women's lungs more than men's for some reason.

Weak bleach solution. Dab it on, leave for a few mins and wipe it off. Repeat till gone. It's essentially the active ingredient in most mould removers.

Thanks everyone. I think I will leave it until the morning and go out and buy one or two of your suggestions.

Second the HG remover. It's the only thing that's worked for us and have tried many over the years.

Soak cotton wool in neat bleach & push onto sealant, leave overnight.
