Anyone have a pergola with adjustable roof slats and if so, how do you find it?
Had a lovely conservatory and separate decking area c/w sail in our old house but in our new home we are not convinced that a conservatory / orangery is strictly necessary (the house is bigger, there are only the two of us and we don't think we will use the extra space). Likewise the decking area, it was lovely but we want to landscape more of the garden and therefore make use of the existing patio directly at the rear rather than providing a separate area.
What we do fancy is a pergola with adjustable slats which would provide shade from the sun (for when sitting out there and also stop sunlight reaching the french-doors on silly hot days) but could also be opened up to allow light & ventilation through at other times.
Many appear to be 4m x 3m which would probably be fine however we could go bigger if people have found it an improvement (better to get it right first time).
What are they like after a few years exposed to the elements (looking at the aluminium ones)?
Any good or bad makes to consider.
OH would be doing the installation, sort of thing he excels at!
