Southport, desirable and not so desirable areas for a young family to live

Hi,
We are looking to move to Southport due to new jobs opportunities. Can anyone please advise on the best areas to live / avoid? I heard apparently one side of meols cop is better than the other but I have no one which one! We have 2 boys, 3.5 and 6 years old so schools are important. Partner will be working in Salford quays 1 day a week, I wfh. Budget to buy is around 350 to 380K tops. Thanks x

Most people say to avoid High Park. As with most places, each area has its good and bad bits. Birkdale and Ainsdale are generally family friendly. I'd avoid the town centre. There are some lovely houses within your budget. One word of caution though: this town is a pain to get in and out of. Motorway links are not close by, and the first whiff of a sunny day brings every man and his dog to the sea. Feel free to pm me.
