We’ve just had a quote but wondering if anyone has any experience on the service they provide, monthly charges etc.

Any reasons to avoid?

thanks

Have a look at the one star reviews on Trustpilot. Lots of people complaining about it being very tough to cancel and engineer visits taking weeks.
Not the worst business reviews I've ever seen on there, to be fair.

Also interested in feedback on this as DH had a quote and we are considering

We installed a few weeks ago

they do adopt a fairly typical sales strategy ie you can get 50% off if you go for this today

but it seems to be working well - based on the times we have opened the door without realising the alarm is on

its pretty advanced - there is a smoke machine available in certain instances, and you can have full alarms on with motion sensors for when you leave the house and just a partial alarm on for overnight (eg we have discreet sensors on the conservatory doors and front doors in case someone shocks them at night).

there is also a sign that goes on the front and back of your house which shojld deter

it makes us feel safer

the installation cost for us of the alarm and arlo doorbell cost about £750 (was a deal) and it’s about £50 pcm

Namechanger355 · 10/04/2023 15:36

The smoke machine isn’t actually smoke - it’s some sort of gas and would only be released in the worst case ie if there was an offender upstairs and the person at the camera didn’t recognise the person and no-one switched off the alarm

We were looking at the package that includes the doorbell. We don’t need smoke detectors as already have these on all 3 floors. Think DH had a quote through EE

It’s not a smoke detector
it’s an immobilising steam/smoke

@DarkNecessities yes I think I misunderstood DH when he’d had the quote as he said they were smoke detectors so I misread the blurb on the website

We have had good experience over past year, though they are spread quite thin in some regions. We are rural in southwest, and it took several weeks for someone to come out to assess system when we had multi false alarms. Ultimately fixed, and the people sent out are very capable. Online and phone support quit good, but they are a smaller player in the market, so infrastructure (local support personnel) may be an issue

Namechanger355 · 11/04/2023 15:47

From what I understand they are bigger than adt globally but smaller than them in the uk

Dumbed down Security company, worse than double-glazing

billyt · 11/04/2023 16:50

Posted too soon

worse than double-glazing firms with their sales tactics.

'Surveyor/sales person' also installs.

I wonder why these people need Verisure unless it's purely for the leads? It's not like Verisure supply the kit, the sell it to them.

And don't get me started on their cringy adverts.

Definitely dumbing down Security Sad
