I’ve lived in Glasgow for the past 15 years however my first 5 years were spent in Melbourne Australia. I’ve recently had the idea of moving back with my wee one but there’s so many factors to consider. I have family in both countries so I know that if I move I’ll have support and I’ll be able to get a job over there but I’m just not sure if I should do it. I think my wee one would love it but I’m just not sure which country is better to raise her in?
any suggestions

Do you need a visa to work in Australia - maybe it's not an issue if you have family there and/or a profession that's in demand? A good friend of mine emigrated a few years ago but he had a special skill set that the Australian government wanted at the time.

I’m sure you do but it wouldn’t be an issue for me as I have an Aussie passport

I Iived in Melbourne 1 year and loved it. Would live there again without my persuasion were it not for the long flight back to see family and friends

Would it be possible to go for a few weeks/month to see if you like it?

Maybe try the new Australia-section of Mumsnet, and ask there too?
Good luck!

If you have a wee one, you must consider the other parent (unless deceased). There are protocols on the subject.

If you have a partner, then the appropriate visa needs sorting. https://immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/visas/getting-a-visa/visa-listing/partner-onshore
