New Bathroom

Looking for some inspiration and not finding much on Google.

We're replacing our downstairs bathroom, replacing the shower with a bath and swapping the toilet and sink around.

It's a NW facing room with a smallish window so doesn't get much natural light. For that reason, I want to keep it as light and bright as possible in terms of decor.

I like the look of the attached tiles but not sure if it'd be too much for the size of the space?!

I love it! But check out Pinterest for inspiration, that’s where I get all of my ideas…

I'm getting my small bathroom done in May. I like half tiles, half paint, (or wallpaper), so I can change the colour in future. Lots of ideas on Pinterest. I think I'll get Victorian-style patterned floor tiles, and white metro wall tiles, then maybe a bigger white tile on the bath side but not sure yet. Don't know if the bigger tiles will work. Might get black taps and fittings.

BlushBlushBlushBlushBlush just realised you weren't asking for ideas BlushBlushBlushI love the picture you posted. Very sophisticated. Would it look a bit cold in a north-facing room?

Oh I love it OP. I think it'd be lovely in that sized room

Where is the toilet in relation to the sink? Just thinking about the soil pipe, if that needs to be moved? Have you had a quote/advice from a plumber? If not find one asap, we waited 4mths for our plumber to fit kitchen & bathroom. Sometimes when pipes need moving you can’t always have what you wanted, due to space. For eg. In our holiday home I wanted a basin in a cabinet, but because the soil pipe ran behind it didn’t work so we had just a normal pedestal basin.

Thanks all 😊

Not at all, grateful for any/all ideas! It's North West facing so does get some good late afternoon/early evening.

I like them but I do wonder if they will be a short live trend which will quickly date. We're currently finalising our bathroom plans and I'm thinking of not having metro tiles, but a larger format instead. We're going for marble look.

The soil pipe would definitely need moved as we're planning on a straight swap of the toilet and sink which are currently, more or less, at opposite ends of the room. Luckily my Dad and brother are plumbers so getting good, sound advice from them and they'll also be doing the work. I'm going for a vanity unit sink and hoping to have a toilet with a concealed cistern but as it'll be under the window I need to check with them if this work 🤞

Good point about half tiles, half paint! Our similar sized bathroom in our last house was tiled floor to ceiling and it looked lovely but we was like a steam room after showering. The walls were dripping (and that was with the window open and extractor fan on).

We went with panelling and painted walls so we can change colours etc in future with plain white tiles with dark grout in the shower cubicle. Still looks brand new two years later
