My hot water wasn't working so I called my plumber who installed my boiler a year ago. Turned out to be an issue with the mains and because it's not part of the boiler guarantee I was charged £80 call out fee.
The gas network came out within 15 minutes, turned it off to make safe, found water in the street mains and are still trying to fix it. Will probably be 10-14 hours without gas.

Has anyone got any experience of this? I guess I assumed they maintained the mains given the service fees we pay for gas services. Am feeling quite grumpy about this as there's no way anyone could know about the networks issue without paying for a plumber themselves :/
