I’m trying to find out some history if I can of our new (old!) house:
with the 1939 census we have names of the family who occupied it but struggling to read his occupation?
I am wondering if it’s post office something? Maybe telephone!!
am grateful for any thoughts/ideas

I read that first word as "paraffin" but looking again I think ItsTrueLou is right.
