I'm finally posting to hopefully get some help on choosing the right area to live in for the next 20 yrs!! We're looking to move back up North to be closer to our family now that we have young children.

Grandparents are based in Harrogate and liked the sound of somewhere a little quieter within easy reach.

A great house has come up in Aldborough but have found that there are 2 large housing developments going up. I know there's a need for more housing and they need to go somewhere.. it just seems infrastructure never quite follows up with the additional housing.
Anyone have any idea if and how the council are dealing with the increase need for schooling and GPs etc?
Thank you very much 😊

I would get on the local area Facebook groups to glean this info.

All I know is, when we were looking last year and the year before in N Yorks including around Boroughbridge, they were building absolutely EVERYWHERE.

Friends who live there tell me builders just build and get retrospective planning permission afterwards - idk how they get away with that, but apparently they do.

If anyone's gonna complain about lack of infrastructure, it'll be local area Facebook groups. Our local one is rife with posts regarding similar.

Does it flood? Boroughbridge has a bad reputation flooding. Also the A1 is a nightmare at that bit.
