What Colour Tiles?

We are just in the process of a new kitchen.
The cupboards are pearl grey, worktops are copper slate (really wanted white ones, but long story didn't end up with them!).
Floor is dark.
Do you think white tiles will be OK?
I'm looking at the biggish ones, so I only need a couple of rows and then I'll paint the rest of the walls white.

No tiles would be my choice, just upstands and paint.

Thanks, We did want upstands, but the walls are shocking, where old tiles have been, so that would mean having the walls re pastered.

That’s often a lot cheaper than tiles and a tiler! I would not have white tiles. Pale sea green might be better. I would get the walls plastered and paint. Use a sheen emulsion and it’s fine.

Thanks @TizerorFizz the tiler would be my OH!
I'll have a look at quotes for a plasterer.
