60s house decor

We are buying a 60s house and looking for decor inspiration but almost everything on instagram/pinterest seems to be victorian houses and I can't visualise similar decor in a 60s house. If anyone has any links to Instagram home decor accounts showing 60s/70s houses, or lives in one and would be happy posting a picture please shout! I like the style as seen in this picture but obviously that's a victorian house.

I just tried an image search for 'updating 1960s house interior' and got lots of hits, so maybe give that a try as a starting point.

Sounds like a fun project!

Some of the listings on this estate agent's site should fit the bill.

Thanks! The house has already been modernised inside but not to my taste (all the fixtures are fine, it's just the paint and the carpet I would do differently). So it doesn't need updating per se, just changing.

Look for "mid century modern" or g-plan tags, that might bring up some alternatives?

We have a late 1960s house. It has lovely big windows (and some dubious plumbing and electrics) and we are going to just paint the walls once we wash the previous owners' grime off it hoping for clean lines and see how the space looks once the colours are in.

Probably bold colours - dark purple, dark blue, turquoise - on one wall and then magnolia elsewhere to try and keep the light in amongst some drama.

I'll be back in 6 months following up on this thread to see how to rectify all our bold colour mistakes with proper 60s styling 😁

I get that, but if you do that google search, you'll see how people have decorated them.
