We are looking at houses near Harris Primary Academy Haling Park school area in South Croydon. Seems like decent commute option to central london for work. What are your opinions about the area? We are just a bit disappointed that there are no parks or gyms nearby within 10-15 walk.

Lloyd Park is very close by.

You’ve got loads of larks nearby as long as your definition of nearby isn’t within 20 paces of the house. Really nice part of the world and south Croydon has been well regenerated as opposed to central which needs bulldozing. Commute wise yes the trains are pretty good for getting up to central London and east Croydon station not far away which has lots of quick options.

The traffic can be pretty bad, especially during rush hour. Parking can be a bit of an issue too.
It's a good area for public transport - lots of buses along Brighton Road. You may be between stations though.
Good family area with several schools - primary and secondary.
Lots of activities nearby for children.
