Can I do this to the front door easily?

I want to change the side the UPVC front door opens (ie opens to the right and I want it to open to the left)

Is this possible or is it going to be an horrific job that wrecks the door and costs a fortune? Am I better just to save up for a new front door?

I don't know that answer, but I want to swap our french doors over so that the left one opens first. If I find out if it's doable without replacing, I will let you know!

If you can you’ll be left with hinge and lock holes, is that going to be a problem for you?

Is there a house alarm sensor built into the door/frame already?

That was my thinking that the whole door will then look a right mess. I just like to check if I can do things before I end up giving in and replacing them!

I’d suggest a call to a local family type double glazing / door company to ask.
I have a distrust for the ‘big’ companies after we found the ‘big’ companies in our area about £1000 more expensive quoting for replacing our wooden door / side window with upvc.
